With the Fast Splint Matrix® application method, installing a retainer splint or an adhesive bridge is a simple, quick and reliable solution for various clinical situations in periodontology, traumatology, or for post-orthodontic treatment.

The material:

Dental fibers have been in use for various splinting and reinforcement applications for many years and in the last few years have progressed significantly in their quality and ease of use.
Current generation materials are in fact a lot more alike than they are different. The better materials, like Fast Splint Matrix® fibers, are made from a glass fiber and are pre-impregnated in a light cure resin. The pre-impregnation makes the fibers easier to handle and stronger as well, as the fiber matrix is more homogeneous due to better resin penetration into the glass fibers. It also results in a chemical bond to the bonding and composite materials that are used in the complete process.
The fibered composite structure to support tooth is obtained by transformation of the fiber braid. This is a tubular fiber weaving of circular cross-section on the whole, pre-impregnated with non-polymerized resin. The resin of the reinforcement is charged of particles conferring a viscosity similar to gel. The circular cross-section of the braid before compression causes a lack of shape memory, which is due to the weaving and to the particular organization of the fiber. This configuration authorize a quality adaptation on the teeth surfaces. If we apply a uniform pressure on the pre-impregnated circular material, one part of resin is expulsed to form two bands of resin without fiber. The compaction of the braid enable to reduce the congestion of the periodontal splint by improving the product resistance on a very thin layer.

Fast Splint Matrix
The 0.9 mm diameter fiberglass braided rope, pre-impregnated with UDMA photo-polymerizable resin, turns into a 1.7mm comfortable and elastic ribbon.

One-directional threads woven into the braided rope guarantee constant mechanical properties after polymerization. Traction resistance is 50 kg.
